Augmented Reality Tour Billennium

Uninvited Guests & Duncan Spearman

Join us for a guided tour, not of the historic past, but of the future of Strijp-S, Eindhoven, on which you walk through time. Watch as future architecture appears before your eyes and hear what different worlds might sound like. Accompanied by archaeologists of the future, you carry mobile devices that will interpret and visualize traces of what’s to come.

Join us for a guided tour through futuristic Strijp-S.
Live-streamed, multichannel audio will immerse you in sci-fi location sounds and speculative architecture. In a place, where technologies were invented, which has already seen rapid urban renewal, Uninvited Guests (UK) and Duncan Spearman (UK) will collaborate with you to imagine possible futures for the City of Light. Utopian and dystopian thinking will be used as critical tools, which enable participants to reflect on current developments and fuel their political imaginations.

Billennium is different every time it is performed, re-made uniquely for specific places. It continues our exploration of how technologies can facilitate the co-creation of performance with participating audiences, who are invited to share in the work’s authorship and shape its outcome.

This project is being created in collaboration with Sam Steer and F E N Y C E.
Originally commissioned by Watershed and University of Bristol’s Smart Internet Lab for the Layered Realities 5G platform, 2018.
Uninvited Guests are produced by Fuel.
Co-presentation in collaboration with Park Strijp Beheer & Woonbedrijf
